Why I like Blog People

Susan, from http://phantsythat.blogspot.com/ commented, (excuse me, I doan link well)

'We can only look back from where we are now.' Which turned my radio immediately to a very nice Joni Mitchell tune.

Yesterday a child came out to wonder
Caught a dragonfly inside a jar
Fearful when the sky was full of thunder
And tearful at the falling of a star
Then the child moved ten times round the seasons
Skated over ten clear frozen streams
Words like, when youre older, must appease him
And promises of someday make his dreams

And the seasons they go round and round
And the painted ponies go up and dawn
Were captive on the carousel of time
We cant return we con only look behind
From where we came
And go round and round and round
In the circle game.

Sixteen springs and sixteen summers gone now
Cartwheels turn to car wheels thru the town
And they tell him,
Take your time, it wont be long now
Till you drag your feet to slow the circles down
And the seasons they go round and round
And the painted ponies go up and dawn
We're captive on the carousel of time
We cant return we can only look behind
From where we came
And go round and round and round
In the circle game

So the years spin by and now the boy is twenty
Though his dreams have lost some grandeur
Coming true
There'll be new dreams, maybe better dreams and plenty
Before the last revolving year is through.

And the seasons they go round and round
And the painted ponies go up and down
Were captive on the carousel of time
We cant return, we can only look behind
From where we came

And go round and round and round
In the circle game

Everytime I hear that song...... I think of my son. He drives me in circles.

And I am reminded that love is never lost, it just grows with us.

Geez, is that a hatchet and a hammer above your son's window? What the hell is his major in school? Serial killing?

(Just kidding...you know I love that kid, he dedicated Frank Zappa's, St. Alfonzo's Pancake Breakfast, to me on his radio show (thanks to you). ;-)

I love your last line in this post, beautiful.

For Okjimm's readers...a shameless promotion from Nunly. I posted a particular blog that is a finalist for the Weblog Awards and would really appreciate it if you would check it out. It's not a political blog, but it's up for the Best Parenting Award.

For those who have kids, or have raised them already, you'd love this blog, the guy is a stay at home dad and his blog is funny as hell (and also very sad sometimes). Please support him...go to my blog and you can link directly to Weblog to vote and you can link to his blog to check it out.

Thanks!

(Okjimm- I hope you don't mind that I did this, I wanted to e-mail you first to ask but lost your e-mail address, you can delete this message if it bothers you. Thanks again, kiddo).

pfffft What? Me Worry! 'shameless promotion' sounds alot better than 'shame promotion' & with only a fraction of the guilt and carries no need for Confession on Saturdays. ;)

The law of conservation of love states that love may neither be created nor destroyed. Therefore the sum of all the love in the system is a constant.

We'll miss you. Don't stay away for too long and if you do send us a toast from Oblio's now and then.

'jimmy... from one softy to another, you are the bees knees my friend. But your boy would not drive you round and round, if you didn't love him so. I know of which I speak... all to well.
