?The early morning sounds of seagulls outside my bedroom window are gone. They were replaced by crows, for awhile, but those are gone too and now it is just the neighbors wind chimes.
They are not the coppery gong type, or the tinny cheap tourist shop variety. Not wood bamboo ones either. Frankly, I do not know what they look like nor do I have a great interest is checking them out. I am not a big fan of wind chimes. To be honest the sound of the wind is enough for me and I love the way it moves through the trees. Leaf chimes as it were.
But these are nice, the sounds they make, more of an orchestral sound which is better than all that I hear about me.... it all seems like noise.
The TV is certainly noise... reminds me most of the seagulls as they would shriek in the morning, skittering about looking for any trash worth eating. The weather reports are noise, too, announcing disasters before they occur and they reporting as much devastating news about the weather as they can squeak out. Weather is not weather, it seems, unless it is hot and nasty. I used to loook forward to the football season, the only sport I really follow, but that has lost me this year, too.,...lock out, hype, dudes getting hundred million dollar salaries..... shit... I was offered a preseason game ticket... for $50 ... and I turned it down... way too much hype at the stadium, too.
Noise... I am so tired of noise. So I do not ask for whom the wind chimes....I know it is not for me.

When A Republican was someone to trust
Been immersed in history lately. You know, stuff gone by, the past, mistakes that, if we study them, we will not make again. Now, I like history. Always fascinated me. Of course, belly button lint fascinates me, too. Anyways... the Civil War has always been a subject of deep interest... it's causes, it's politcal appl, ications, the social change, the deep seated regionalism of the times. So that is what I have been reading lately..... and that is not what I am thinking about now... but a few words grabbed my attention to day.....
a new birth of freedom --
and that government of the people,
by the people,
for the people,
shall not perish from the earth.
....we need a new birth of freedom.... for people....
our government needs to realize, again...that it serves the people
we need to rededicate ourselves to the words of that President..... and not the corporation that carried his name.
... but what do I know

nope, not today
Profundity escapes me today. Humor, too..... the words are there.... but there are elusive birds... all the vowels, and nouns and chirping punctuation marks.
a good day to take a book to the river.
