Boy, I am think I am heartbroken

Just thinking of MacArthur Park makes me weeping for all the lost love in my life.

Spring was never waiting for us, girl
It ran one step ahead
As we followed in the dance
Between the parted pages and were pressed,
In love's hot, fevered iron
Like a striped pair of pants

MacArthur's Park is melting in the dark
All the sweet, green icing flowing down...
Someone left the cake out in the rain
I don't think that I can take it
Cause it took so long to bake it
And I'll never have that recipe again
Oh, no!

I recall the yellow cotton dress
Foaming like a wave
On the ground around your knees
The birds, like tender babies in your hands
And the old men playing checkers by the trees

There will be another song for me
For I will sing it
There will be another dream for me
Someone will bring it

I will drink the wine while it is warm
And never let you catch me looking at the sun
And after all the loves of my life
After all the loves of my life
You'll still be the one.

I will take my life into my hands and I will use it
I will win the worship in their eyes and I will lose it
I will have the things that I desire
And my passion flow like rivers through the sky.
And after all the loves of my life After all the loves of my life
I'll be thinking of you And wondering why.

MacArthur's Park is melting in the dark
All the sweet, green icing flowing down...
Someone left the cake out in the rain
I don't think that I can take it
'Cause it took so long to bake it
And I'll never have that recipe again

Oh, no!
Oh, no
Jimmy Webb

Maybe I should seek medical attention.

did you take that picture or is it just saying 8/22/2007 in the corner for nothing?

and that's a great song you posted there.

Loving me some Jimmy Webb this morning...

Glad to see that the nursing crisis is abated in WI. Looks like an up-and-coming new crop on the job.

Right next to Eisenhower field.

You know, every time I go to a fast food joint, the workers look more like me instead of them.

Damn you for taking me back to worst years of my life. I can only recall the Donna Summer version of that song and bang my head against the wall wondering how I could listen to disco with a straight face.

All I hear is Donna Summer.

I never realized how cool the lyrics really were.

And the pic--sort of a cross between hooters, A&W, and general hospital.

Wonder what the special is.

I'd advise heading straight for the medical attention before they have to search out their winter woolies.

Susan... I had great medical attention, at one time. She was a nurse. Decided she loved someone else. I have had winter woolies ever since.

Dcap...a cake in the rain equals two in the bush.... or whatever! :)

Missy... friend of mine...keeps sending me photos of burger joints...I guess it is the 'Heart Attack Grill' LA or someplace. I should post the menu... but the waitresses got in the way of my imagination.

Spartz... nope.... disco with a straight face is impossible. It is why we all still like the blues.

Randal //the workers look more like me instead of them.//

Wowsers... sounds like anothe $750 of therapy for december. quit going to fast food and quit looking in the mirror. Worked for me, just saying n all.

Anita.... absolutely the original. It is the only way to wax. The other wax is only good for skis and floors.

BE... If I could assure myself of such medical attention I would have heart attacks daily instead of semi-annually.

Libs.... MacArthur Park, to me, is like listening to Cohen do 'Suzanne' again. Love it.

Dusty... ya, love them stockings. I hope St Nick fills mine this year. Just hopin', is all.

So long as no one's singing it, I love those strange lyrics. And the photo... Those were the days my friend, we thought they'd never... Well you know the rest.
