A Muffin for Anita

you shall above all things be glad and young.
for if you are young, whatever life you wear
it will become you; and if you are glad
whatever's living will yourself become
-ee cummings

It's a beautiful day here in downtown Wisconsington. Low humidity, warm temperatures, azure blue skies full of bright, white fluffy clouds&stuff.

I promised Anita a doughnut. It is just too nice a day for doughnuts. It's friday and it's just a great day to be sucking in air.

Sorry kiddo...... you get a muffin instead. Doughnuts are for sitting at desks .... muffins are for outdoors with coffee at the sidewalk cafe.
..........and I gotza Belgian red for Dcup. For AFTER work.... none of this 'driving -& shooting photos & talking on the cell phone & drinking beer' stuff.....

hugs&stuff...

for everyone

Wow, muffins and wine....do you have a crumb to spare for poor Nunly? A dry crust of bread? A sip of water? Most of all, I need a hug. I miss my son and want to go back to his school to bring him home. :-(

Look at you! A tall cool one, eh?

Oh man...I'll pass on both Meatloaf's. I'll just use the breadcrumbs to feed the birds outside...you know, taking care of all God's creatures and stuff.

Yeah...I miss my son so much my heart just aches. I'm fighting off the urge to call him and see how he's doing. I told him to call us today...chances are, he won't, until he needs money or homemade ravioli or canoli. I miss that little ingrate.

ME, you should sleep on it, baby, baby, you should sleep on it and call him in the morning. AAH! CURSE YOU MEATLOAF!

Are you supposed to miss them?

I suggest text messaging. Weird how they'll ignore phone calls and voicemails and emails, but whenever I text dem kids they answer back right away.

Mine are always, "where r u? r u safe?"

Mmmm. Meatloaf. Two slices please!

Randal- LOL! Sheesh, haven't heard that in awhile!

missy- shortly after I wrote that comment my son called. Just as I thought..it had to do with money. He was trying to buy the Microsoft Word program for his computer at the Tech Center and he needed the credit card to pay for it. The rest of the conversation was pretty cut and dry...

Mom: How are you, did you sleep ok last night?

Son: Fine.Yeah.

Mom: Did you go for breakfast?

Son: Yeah.

Mom: Did you go alone or with your roommates?

Son: Alone.

Mom: You sat alone?

Son: No, I saw my roommates there and sat with them.

Mom: So you weren't alone...

Son: No.

Son: So, what's that credit card number again?

It's HOT here and the laptop's HOT too so I may not be around for long. Another glass of chilled Chardonnay please to go with my luncheon crumbcake - following the breakfast muffin and espresso while it was still cool on the balcony. Ah, weekends.

me - I still miss my son and he left for college 20 years ago.

Mary Ellen said...

Geez, susan...what kind of degree is he going for? 20 years in college is a long time! ;-)

me - Well, he graduated with two useless ones (English and Medieval Theater) after 6 years but decided to stay in NE when we moved out here. Life is a kick in the pants sometimes.

Breadcrumbs in meatloaf? What's that all about?

Mary Ellen said...

Susan- I know, don't you hate it when your kids move away? I have two on the East Coast. It sucks.

okjimm- ok, enough with the muffins and bread crumbs, time for a new post. Quit slackin'. ;-)

Hope all is ok..I worry when I don't see my favorite cheesehead on the blogosphere.
