I'd get all weepy eyed about the great prices if I didn't remember that it came with segregated lunch counters, black and white analog television, and all the other charms of the era...

Things have become a lot more expensive since 1998, haven't they?

The BLT sounds good, with one of those "extra rich" ice cream sodas and some fries. Ah, the memories. Ah, the low prices, because that lunch would cost at least $6 to $8 any more.

That's why one makes their own BLT and brings it into the restaurant. Should be able to finish at least half before the establishment goons throw you out onto the curb. Take that, fascists!

Makes my mouth water but it's all relative. There were times back then when I couldn't even afford these prices.

1998? LOL, I wish.

Susan... 1998 indeed! I still remember going to a small cafe back home when I was in 8th grade... ten ounce coke and a plated of home-made french fries for 26 cents...

SW...$^... be about right... I can't afford lunch... I just read menus and hope that it satisfies my hunger

Randal... sounds like an idea to me... bring your own sandwich and azsk for free water

Leslie... ya. I remember scrounging through the park as akid to find enough redeemable pop bottles to go buy a root beer

Banana splits for 39 cents? Can't buy anything for 39 cents today.

My uncle and aunt owned an independent drug store when I was a kid. Loved sitting at the soda fountain and drinking lime rickeys.

And yes, food AND candy bars tasted better. A Three Musketeer bar was bigger and more chocolatey! I had one recently--tasteless!
