Interlude

Wind on the Hill

No one can tell me,
Nobody knows,
Where the wind comes from,
Where the wind goes.

It's flying from somewhere
As fast as it can,
I couldn't keep up with it,
Not if I ran.

But if I stopped holding
The string of my kite,
It would blow with the wind
For a day and a night.

And then when I found it,
Wherever it blew,
I should know that the wind
Had been going there too.

So then I could tell them
Where the wind goes...
But where the wind comes from
Nobody knows.

A. A. Milne
* shit! it is only 4 degrees.....
I don't care where the wind comes from
or where it goes
just so it leaves me alone
and not chill my nose!

Don't listen to anita, be miserable with the rest of us, dammit. Listen to dusty. It's Wis-con-sin. Four? That's brisk! ;-)

Ya know...if the cold bugs you that much, there are warmer states in the lower 48 that may suit you better.

As for A.A. Milne's poem, I really like it. Nice choice to describe your weather conditions. But apparently, someone slept through the 9th grade earth science class covering atmospheric conditions.

Anita...nah, I'm ok. Thanks. But I screwed up my ankle and can no long nordic ski. It was the only thing I liked doing in winter. Bubba is trying to talk me into snowshoeing on the lake. Could be good, maybe.

Dusty.... no. I will never get used to the cold. Never. I want to win the lottery and spend each winter in Australia. Gotta have a goal, right?

Spartz..//warmer states // State of Inebriation works for me.

Ya, Randal... Youse gotzta be having the same kinda deal, huh, Lake effect snow? I will like winter when they elect a jewish pope and not before.

//slept through the 9th grade earth science //

I slept through most of ninth grade. Too much happening at night.

Winter's okay so long as you can look at it through a window.

It's warmer here, but you've gotta put up with the southerners.

That's it, I'm officially in trouble with someone.

Maybe they should change the name of Wisconsin to make it sound warmer. Like, Southern Ontario.

If I had my druthers I'd stay in Michigan until New Year's Day--'cause snow at Christmas is a bit of a must. Then I'd winter in the dessert and come back in time for St. Patrick's Day.

Peace, brother. Stay warm.

Ya, I gotta put on a happier face. Winter isn't so bad..... it just seems like it.

This morning's wind chill was only -9.
