The Ideal Republican Candidate!

.
It would be a SURE THING!  A woman, a minority, good boob size, a thoughtfully smirky smile, Arty Sensibilities, good Renaissance Personality great recognition factor....  and shit, listen, I am not being racist.... but they already have, what, eight, ten monkeys up on that stage, what's one more?   Yup, I heard that they are gonna line those fucking clowns up saturday night and let them jubble up some nouns and verbs and pick some noses, maybe suffle their feet a bit....shit&whiskers.... lemmee tell you about ONE home town boy who will not be watching that shit.... Nope... I think I will rent me some Brady Bunch DVDs and delve into a deeper, more sincere consciousness than anything those fucking idiots will talk about.  But ask me how I really feel about it.... sometime when I am a little more apathetic, please, and after the prozac kicks in.

Nope, see, I have other things on my mind..... like the dope-shit crazy fucks that are running My Beautiful DownTown Wisconsky.... running it run into the fucking ground hog... speaking of which, it goddam snowed here yesterday and I guarantee youse all that I am not gonna see a shadow of a doubt or any other shadow until the goddam grass is green again and the trees sprout those little leafy things... oh, where was I?  Yupperz... Wiscovilleson..... well, see, what happened is that in order to CREATE JOBS.... the Republicz Fuckz passed gas and a new law that let's anyone over the age of five carry a concealed weapon..almost any fucky weapon other than a nucklar bomb...... and originally you had to take FOUR hours of training to be able to do that.... well they scraped that.... nope.... no training needed now....
Shit... you need four hours of traing to BE A BARTENDER! Over 300 hours of training to be a fucking manicurist....gotza take a written and road test to drive a car,  but nopez, I can just walk into a gun shop and say "Hey, gimmee a big ass gun with some big fucking bullets"... and all the guy has to do is say.... "you can pick it up in 7 days, would you like Ketchup with that?"   Well the first thing wrong with all that is it is spelled CATSUP  and I prefer tartar sauce with my hollow point bullets, thank you very much.

Alright, I know that was a little radical... hehehe

Anywayz.... see, it is Veterans Day... and as much as I hate war, I have the utmost respect for veterans.  I don't care if they enlisted, were drafted, came home in one piece... or missing pieces, or came home in ... bags.
They are ours, and they are us.

So... I just want to say.....to all those.."support our troops" folks.... who just forget about them... when they do come home.
So let me set the record straight.... Vietnam... I did not serve.  I was drafted...had a shitty lottery number.  I also did not pick up a student deferment.  I did have, though, a phone number in Toronto, and a girlfriend who was two months late.  All that is a different story.  I spent the Nam years protesting...
Yessirree Bob, I certainly did.  And that is where I got to know most of the veterans I knew.  In college, at rallys.  Guys without arms, legs, eird scars... in wheel chairs... some were a little nuts... and some had hearts so big..so big.

Cause America took them... abused them, changed them...shucked them and chucked them.... and they saw the worst.... cause they were in the real shit storm.... not folks like me.  So this guy on FB asks what kind of parents those OWS protesters had... to let their children hit the streets in a mob.  Even some of the 'newspapers' are hawking up that same old spittle.  Fuck that crap... wrong is wrong.
And don't tell me otherwise, see!  I remember what was wrong... forty some years ago.  So, if the Vets hit the streets.... they are just part of the mob, right?  If they ask for a new leg, or arm.... or a little cash to finish college, well gee, that's just entitlements, right?

Oh, those guys saw.... lived.....what we can only imagine....... or do not want to.
The  folks coming back from Afghan, Iraq....  what they must feel, now....

now, that the clowns who will prance and swing and sing.... and not say a word about ending al the wars and bringing all of our vets home...even Obama....  no one is talking about what is in store for them.... now.  Benenfits?  Oh... that would just be entitlements....

Nope....it is just one of those days.... the sun rises much too late these days, sets too early. My feet are cold.... and there are just clowns and monkeys on a stage, and the organ grinder is calling the tune.
I gotzta go.

It frustrates me when politicians wax poetic about "supporting the troops," when they have so little empathy for what war does to soldiers and those who love them.

Ahab, youse got that right...!!!

Are any of those candidates a veteran? I doubt it very highly. Yeah, war is hell and I don't want any one, not even republicans, to go through hell.

Yeah, you kinda said it all. My father was a veteran (screwed up but nobody got it then...it was just normal) my husband is a Vietnam vet and so I live with it every day. Nobody goes to war without being screwed up by it. It would be crazy not to be. We are lucky I guess that the Obama administration ordered a review of PTSD requirements, and changed them to reflect the actual syndrome. We reapplied for disability and jumped through all the hoops, and got a 30% claim approved after over 20 years. Its a help, but God, it sure comes awfully late in the game. The hysterical thing is my husband missed a greater disability approval because "our marriage" seems to have stabilized him so well. He thought that was amusing, although true. Yet, so many are faring so much worse. The homeless and alcoholic numbers are heavily weighed toward the veteran. It is a crime.

"Support the troops" means sending them to war. They should be grateful Republicans use them for political pawns.

Michelle Malkin would fit perfectly but she is an rabies infected shrew.

Even though I am a veteran I tend to avoid the stuff associated with November 11th. The country has changed too much for me since Bush, Cheney, and the Iraq war. I'm just not into mindless dogpack patriotism.

i was going to argue with you, jimm (it's ketchup, not catsup), but then i read the rest of your post, and you were so right about everything else, i decided to let your erroneous ideas on spelling slide.

I was born during the Korean War. I am now closing in on 60 pretty hard. I think there has only been maybe a total of 10 years scattered throughout my life so far that we haven't been invading or occupying somewhere in order to spread our brand of patriotism. And when I think about it, the 50 years of war or conflict we have enthusiastically waged has been useless and fruitless......except for those who made the guns and ammo we shot up the planet with.

Lip service : "an avowal of advocacy, adherence, or allegiance expressed in words but not backed by deeds —usually used with pay." Most politicos subscribe to it. Also the name of a British TV program.Check it out. It's a hoot.

I fought on the home front, signing a contract in 1970 to teach for two years in the inner city. Did two tours of duty, the first so brutal, I moved everything to SW Wis and lived in a tent for a year.I came back, substitute taught for 15 mo.s in 52 inner city schools & did 10 more years to prove something to myself, that I was most effective with a pencil and paper than with a rifle.

The Fabulous Miss Lindsey Graham loves a man or a boy, in a uniform.

She loves to entertain them at her Manse in South Carolina where she dresses up in her southern finery and pretends to be Scarlett O'Hara.

No wonder Miss Lindsey has never met a war she doesn't support.

okjimm, that's a hell of a post. Because of the bad economy and budget problems there's going to be a choice coming up: proper care and help for veterans or more spending on defense contracts. The usual suspects — the ones who sported their shiny flag lapel pins and put yellow ribbon magnets on their cars — will be quick to opt for the big defense contracts. Because, you know, we're overdue for another world war, or something.

We need to keep focus on our veterans and their needs. Today and tomorrow's troops need to see us doing that, too.

BTW, okjimm, where did you get that future-perfect photo of Michelle Bachmann?

Beach Bum, you noticed Malkin's little rabies problem too, LOL. I think she'd be on CNN or Fox by now, but they're afraid she might bite somebody.

I listened to a program on NPR last night about vets coming home with horrific injuries from IED blasts. Sometimes people forget that the vets who are coming home aren't coming home whole - emotionally or physically. We can't do enough for the people who put their lives on the line for the rest of us. Our gratitude ought to be backed up by decent job programs and health care benefits. Whether war is right or wrong, abandoning our soldiers is inexcusable and morally corrupt.

Were you serious about the gun law? Dear God help us all.

I'm still having trouble with where the HELL we get off even begin to question the right to protest? WTF?! and pardon the hell out of my frothing at the mouth but as the good man in Virginia told me it was my God Given Right to Carry a Firearm (and such is his right to his belief and is his law) it is also My God Given (ah, constitutional something or other... looooook it upppppppp) Right to Protest..... in peace.

Oh wait. Did that go as part of the patriot act? I get sorta confused these days.

(and I can't spell worth a damn)
