?The early morning sounds of seagulls outside my bedroom window are gone. They were replaced by crows, for awhile, but those are gone too and now it is just the neighbors wind chimes.
They are not the coppery gong type, or the tinny cheap tourist shop variety.  Not wood bamboo ones either.  Frankly, I do not know what they look like nor do I have a great interest is checking them out.  I am not a big fan of wind chimes.  To be honest the sound of the wind is enough for me and I love the way it moves through the trees.  Leaf chimes as it were.
But these are nice, the sounds they make, more of an orchestral sound which is better than all that I hear about me.... it all seems like noise.
The TV is certainly noise... reminds me most of the seagulls as they would shriek in the morning, skittering about looking for any trash worth eating.  The weather reports are noise, too, announcing disasters before they occur and they reporting as much devastating news about the weather as they can squeak out.  Weather is not weather, it seems, unless it is hot and nasty.  I used to loook forward to the football season, the only sport I really follow, but that has lost me this year, too.,...lock out, hype, dudes getting hundred million dollar salaries..... shit... I was offered a preseason game ticket... for $50 ... and I turned it down... way too much hype at the stadium, too.

Noise... I am so tired of noise.  So I do not ask for whom the wind chimes....I know it is not for me.

Cute Jimmy. Hemmingway. Nice.

Nature is actually quite noisy as most city slickers attest to when they wander beyond the sidewalks. But still, we are knowing that New Mexico and the 'burbs will be a real change in the noise issue. Not looking forward so much to that. Can't have everything.

Wish someone would have offered me a $50 preseason game ticket! I live in Dallas, so it would have been for the Cowboys. Noise? ... it's the sound of the city I reckon ....

A couple of years ago paid a visit to a secluded beach here in South Carolina where I got so far away from everything and everyone I did not hear any human-made sounds.

It took awhile to realize what was "wrong" but I sure as Hell enjoyed it.

If you're saying we should replace all the politicians of the world with seagulls, I'm on board.

Sue...I am thinking of throwing away my tv...

Chimp..Lambeau is a great place to watch the game....but a stadium cheap beer at $6 gets to me!

Dear Bum...I would love to get out of town..just for a couple of nights....don't seem to get it done

Randal...Michelle Bachman is a seagull with lipstick... only the seagulls make more sense

I'm with you on wind chimes; never cared for the distraction.

Football has become a big-money industry more than a sport, IMO. Wealthy glad handers and corporations run up prices by buying expensive boxes and seats to impress their peers and make clients feel indebted to them. That tends to boost prices for everyone else. TV ups prices more. Players' pay is ridiculous. Baseball has the same problem. Most kids don't seem to relate to it any more. Money is allowed to corrupt and spoil too many things.

You just reminded me of a retirement village in Florida I read about where there were so many different wind chimes clanging their board of directors banned all of them.

I've hated wind chimes from the first time I heard them. In my perfect world, all wind chimes would be required to be made of nerf material... like pool "noodles'.

There, fixed it, by god...
