And this Pacific Northwest stuff.....? Well, Duh!!!! There is no Atlantic Northwest.... fact is... there is No Atlantic North East.... we just call that Maine...
Ya know.... some days it is not good to look at a map.... but see, there is a place I am trying to get to.... heard the employment opportunities are good.....

Gee willikers, did you not notice that Hawaii has drifted east to just off the coast of California and that Alaska has falled off the Canadian Northwest? Call the Military!!! Sarah is behind this!

Actually, somewhat paradoxically, it's called Down East, lol.
We do have a Down South, but that's a relative term used by those north of the first state where Dixie cups are being saved for a nefarious purpose.
No surprise that I'm out West, but you probably don't think of yourself as being back East, yet to me you are.
Enough, lest we go over the edge. ;)
for that matter, why do we have a heartland when we don't have a kidneyland, a liverland, a brainland, etc.? we do have foothills and finger lakes, and europe has a couple of brests, but that's different.

SW...it always killed me...how we reach these regional designations, this need to describe where we are ....you"re right... if I travel east, they tell me I am from 'out West'... and if I visit and in the West they tell me I am from 'back East."
Some around here call us the "third Coast": Michigan and Wisconsin combined have roughly 4,000 mile of Great Lakes coastline.
I tend to just say I am here.
Nonnie..ha! funny! they call wisconsin "Dairy Land".... but I tend to think of it as "Beerville"
