Eye Update

Ok... first off.... I really would like to say thank you to all who have commiserated with me about my condition.  Kind words DO make a difference.
I guess if I still had insurance this would not be a big deal.  I guess the surgery is one of the easiest to perform, done in mere minutes, with a high rate of success.  Insurance?  What a great word for a bookie.... and to me that is what Insurance is.....betting.  You bet that you eventually will get sick and the insurance company bets that you won't.  Trouble is that if and when you get sick...... the insureance company won't pay, or says that it is your fault.... oh oh oh...!!!. and let's not forget that wonderful word..... DEDUCTIBLE  !  I remember back in college when the National Collegiate Debate was " Resolved: The United States should implement a system of comprehensive Health Care for all citizens"  That wqas back iin 1972.........boy have we come along way since then, huh?  Today I walked by a large insurance company office.....three big floors of people that do what...... make other people well?

Oh gees, see, it ain't no big deal.... I am doing what I can.  Today I sat with Social Services to see what kind of assistance I can get.... might work.  They also gave me a big list of 'Charities that might help.  Goldang it all..... I paid taxes for years.... I don't want a hand out.... I just want A LITTLE OF WHAT I PAID FOR... I JUST WANT THIS FIXED!!!!!!!

oh, well.  I reactivated my ebay account and am selling off a bunch of my old collectibles.  I know there are boxes of stuff I have collected that may bring in some bucks....

.........anyone needs some straight razors.....?  I am living on the edge.

Perhaps later..... perhaps

I am not one to dwell on certain things.  It is easy enough to share what we like, what pleases us, what we love and how the moon at night can shape our dreams.

And then there is that which frightens us.... seemingly defeats us, and that we tuck into corners both sharp and dangerous and we do not go there often, if at all, for it can eat us up and destroy all we love.

So I have not mentioned that what really frightens me, but as my posting gets lighter and what I write is getting pettier and simpler.....(ha...like it was that hot in the first place!)  I just thought I would explain a little.  I am losing my sight.  I have no insurance.  Later today I am going, finally, to the Doctor.  The eye Doc is a friend.  We have socialized and played golf and gone on road trips together in the past.  He will yell at me for not going sooner.  He will call me by my nickname and not James or such bullshit.  It could be worse.  I gave up driving over a year ago.... it was a sensible thing to do.  More and more people talk to me and I cannot see who they are.

The money thing with out insurance, really bothers me.  So.... it can be fixed, but I cannot afford it?

Or, it cannot be fixed.  What the Fuck........ see.....  it is always something.

I guess it will be easier to visit blogs than to write.  At present ..... I need to get my nose about two inches from the screen..... anyways... that is what is up.  I do not like it one little bit..... but as in all things in life....... no one asks me.

Vote

.

A long weekend it was. The weather was fabulous.  Saturday the farmer's market opened.  Not much produce, but I did get some great cheese.  I was able to hit the Irish Fest down by the river.  Didn't drink my weight in Guiness, but Was able to listen to Rising Gael, one of the nicest Irish bands in the midwest.

But in this part of t\he World the big thing is the Recall Scott Walker vote.  Today.  It seems to be dead even.  ?the New is the expected turn out will be between 60-65% which would be fantastic.  The contest seems to be a dead heat.  Four Republican State Senators are also on the ticket in today's voting.  I hope, a lot of us hope... that this could be the beginning of the end of Teabaggery.

A more telling anecdote... Scott Walker has been running all over the USA soliciting money and support from Big Corporations.  Sunday past I was having coffee at the local coffee house when Tom Barrett, the Democratic challenger, stops in for a small impromptu meet and greet.  And after he was done with his little speech, he hangs around.... and talks to teachers, and union folks... and even spends a few moments with a hippie blog writer.  I would post the photo.... but it hasn't been sent to me yet.  There just seems to be just a difference between the two candidates that I JUST  CAN'T DESCRIBE.

But I know I will have a beer or two... and watch the returns.  Wish us well, here in the Dairy State.  We need it.
